Need help Identifying a Song [17 Jan 2008|05:29pm]
alskdjfh_1

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what this song is called / who its by. I've been searching on the web for days, but have come up with nothing.

If anyone has any idea who this might be by (My first guess was Buffy Sainte Marie), I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

A piece of Africa at Seattle! [26 Jan 2006|05:10pm]

Boyzie Cekwana, the great choreographer of South Africa, will present his show on Feb. 2-5 at the On the Boards performance center (www.ontheboards.org). He makes a impressive mixture of traditional dance with jazz and modern. His show is a meditation about post-apartheid male identity. AIDS, child abuse and violence.

Post-show talk with Boyzie Cekwana Thurs, Feb 2.

Greetings,

My name is Desirée and I just joined this community. I had a few years of more formal music education in elementary school and middle school when I took violin lessons, but unfortunately I was unable to continue with that. In the meantime, I've still had an intense love for music creation and appreciation, and I have collected and played some folk instruments for a number of years now (e.g. thumbpianos, penny whistles, wood and leather drums, ocarinas, castanets, etc.).

Last year I received a cedar Native American flute in they key of A for Christmas and fell in love with the instrument. This past September I was able to get a plastic Native American flute with interchangeable sections allowing it to play in the keys of both G minor and F# minor, which I am also very pleased with. I'm certainly an amateur when it comes to playing instruments, but I find it wonderful nonetheless!

Hi
My name is Kit I am 48 live in England and have been playing the Native American Indian Flute for about one year.

I own 3 flutes and have just made my own. It is in F# and sounds pretty good.

I am just about to buy a 4 track recorder so that I can record my flute music onto MP3 and share it with my friends.

Go in peace
Kit

Greetings and welcome to the nativesounds community!

I created this community as a haven for lovers of ethnic music and dance to come and share with others. I myself play a Native American flute carved from cedar, and have taken african tribal dance while in a creative arts program back in high school.

I look forward to some great discussions!

Wado,
